2019, You're Late

Firstly… I hope you’ve all had a glorious Christmas and a very merry New Year. Alex and I spent our new year’s drunk in the queue of Oceana after he had just been sick in my mates sink. Think of that how you will. But it was one of the best new years yet (As well as last year). I’ve been a bit MIA (missing in action) and I’m fully aware. But it’s probably true that so far this year I’ve had the best highlights and the worst low points of my year so far. I’ve started my new job and it’s the best decision I’ve made since I graduated, I L O V E  IT and everybody has been nothing but friendly. It’s the first job I’ve had where I actually am being the most inspired and creative that I can possibly be, enabled by amazing people and an amazing company. I’m so excited for my future there and have such a good feeling of settlement already. Besides, as we all know, last year was trial and error.  I’ve been stressed because of all the changes but this is my year I’m tellin...

Why I'm Obsessed With These Autumn Pieces

People who say they’re either a summer person or winter person has always made me laugh a little, maybe at my own confusion of what that even means. Recently however, I have had to eat my own hat a little. Because I am a self-confessed and winter obsessed seasonal lover. I don’t know if it is about getting older, my love for comfort foods, crisp morning and evenings and the excuse to get excited over the national holidays of Halloween, bonfire night and Christmas, but I can tell you now, autumn has arrived and I am READY.

Maybe having lived in student accommodation away from home for three years has sent me into home comfort over drive where anything was an excuse to make the rented state of a house feel more homely. Maybe it was to do with me being home sick and even having a phone call with mum telling me they’re watching Strictly Come Dancing with a glass of fizz made my heart sink. Maybe it’s to do with being able to layer up so many exciting fashionable textiles and colours. Who knows.
As soon as it has been getting colder, with the air feeling chilly and the fields being frosty, there's something inside me that just wants it to be outside enjoying the natural changes or inside in the warm. My family will tell you how annoyingly seasonal I feel at the drop of a leaf, and okay I am that person that gets excited on the countdown to Christmas in September as opposed to dread. I actually enjoy the darker evenings, it feels cosier. My best pal Liz Snapchat me pondering if she should light her winter spice Yankee candle yet and OF COURSE I replied immediately in full fledged support.

I’m also that person that sticks Gavin and Stacey’s Christmas special on months and months in advance to get the good times rolling. It might initially be because I’m too lazy to turn the series off on Netflix when the final episode comes on, but my god when Mick starts playing that piano I’m planning  my next opportunity to go Christmas shopping.

Here are some Autumn/ Winter favourites:

Topshop- Mason Crocodile Effect Chelsea Boots, black, £85.00

CAN we just talk about how beautiful these are?! I am really enjoying the cowboy chunky heel that seems to be popular at the moment and these are the perfect height for every day errands (or strutting). I feel the crocodile texture adds to the style and will complete any outfit including wide leg trousers or culottes, or even pairing perfectly with a long skirt.

Newlook- Black Faux Fur Longline Coat, black, £39.99

Thank god I found a replacement faux fur jacket after last years had seen much better days. It's a generous fit so great for layering, and really thick to add warmth to frostier or windy days. The coat is so soft I got compared to my boyfriends Labrador, a high compliment in my eyes.

Topshop- Sallie Tortoiseshell Handle Shoulder Bag, black, £27.00

Everybody wants a bag thats big enough to fit a pair of shoes, socks for trampolining, 2 cans of deodorant, a purse, an umbrella and a make up bag in without looking like a bin bag. Low and behold we have hit the jack pot. A really good quality bag finished with the on trend tortoise shell handles (longer strap included also) for only £27, what more could you want?!

Newlook- Tan Leopard Print Suede Kitten Heel Sock Boots, leapord, £19.99

I can hear the cat calling from here, and I'm not feeling oppressed I'm feeling impresSED. The animal print trend has been my favourite in a long time and yesssss I might be compared to Cat Slater and yessss they might not be everyone's cup of tea, but the kitten heel and sock fit combo I feel makes them great for paring with any wide fit on longer length'd dresses, skirts or jumpsuits.
